Welcome to My Participant Page
Hello friends and family!
Team Diane is back after a one year hiatus and this year we've got a new member, Dylan Gordon Ertel! As always we are walking for the reasons outlined below, but first and foremost to honour my mom, Diane Rooney, who has been suffering with Alzheimer's for over 10 years now. Diane is in a wheel chair now after falling and breaking her hip in December 2016, and she doesn't speak often anymore; however, she does smile from time to time when she sees her first grandson, Dylan:) Dylan isn't walking yet, but he turns one on May 4th, two days before the walk, so perhaps he'll be up and motoring by then.
I am participating in the Investors Group Walk for Alzheimer's and raising money in support of the estimated 70,000 British Columbians living with dementia.
By walking, I will honour people who have passed and will acknowledge the work that must be done to ensure help and hope for the people living with the disease today.
I am inspired by the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s ultimate vision of a world without dementia. This vision begins with a world where people living with the disease are welcomed, acknowledged and included.
Before there is a cure there is care.
The funds I raise will ensure the Society can continue to provide vital support, education and information to people living with dementia and their families. They will also enable research into the causes of and cures for dementia.
Please help me to make a difference by giving whatever you can.
Thank you in advance for your kind and generous support, it means the world to me! Together, we make memories matter.
