The Walk has moved online
As we collectively learn how to deal with the challenges of Covid-19, one thing holds true – supporting the health and wellbeing of our local community is our highest priority.
Together we can support people affected by dementia during these unprecedented times and ensure that social distancing does not result in social isolation. While we may not be able to be together in person, we can still connect to honour and celebrate people affected by dementia. That is why this year we are making Walk Where You Are a online event.
We are asking participants to hold their own Walk event in whatever manner suits their situation. You could walk 5km around your neighborhood, hold a family dance party in your living room or challenge your team to a stair climbing competition.
Whatever way you choose to participate, we are thankful you are joining us for the Online Walk and fundraising to help those living with Alzheimer’s in your community. We hope you will join us in whatever way works best for you from now until the end of September.
Join us for the Online Walk Broadcast!
Since we cannot come together for our large community Walks, we have found an alternative. On Sunday May 31 at 1 p.m. AST you can join Alzheimer’s societies from across Canada for a fun and exciting “televised” event.
Walk, watch, fundraise – or do all three! You can still participate safely and help raise much needed funds for local programs and services.
We will be sending out the link to registered participants closer to the date.
